For those of you who thought a Merc SL Black series was the ultimate in the SL series,

Here is the BRABUS TUNED T65 RS SL 65 AMG BLACK SERIES.

The original Black was a 670BHP devil with a 0-62MPH time of 3.9 secs. Well, for some gentlemen it seems it wasn't enough . So here is the Brabus tuned version with a 800BHP and tarmac churning torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft) @ 2,100 rpm.

This beast does the 0-62 MPH in 3.6 secs and 0-124MPH in 9.8 secs. Voila!

With the special BRABUS stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system, she sounds like rumbling thunder.

The BRABUS upholstery shop creates a special sporty and luxurious interior to customers’ exact specifications, down to the last detail.

Here is the latest Hamann modified BMW 7.

HAMANN, The German tuner long associated with BMW has gone shopping with the new BMW 7 Series and have made some progressive changes to this big business machine to be worth mentioning as a sport saloon.

First of all, they increased the engine capacity to 7.1 L from 6.0 L V12, increasing the out put to 510hp and 728Nm of torque. Sweet!

Then added new stainless steel exhaust systems with a “sporty and earthy sound”, aerodynamic bodywork that reduces lift, and light alloy rims from 19 to 22 inches. On the inside there’s lots of leather and floor-mats in matching colours.

Four progressively coiled springs which lower the center of gravity by 40 millimeters at the front and rear axles, giving this machine that mean sporty look, plus also improves high speed stability.Good

There’s also a roof spoiler and the rear spoiler that also cut lift and gives limousine a new, attractive and sporty overall appearance.

Performance?, Well the 0 -60 mph sprint is over in under 5.0 secs with a top whack of 312 kmph, impressive!

2010 Audi A8.

At the 2009 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Fisker Automotive Inc., the new American manufacturer of premium green automobiles, unveiled its first production car The Fisker Karma 2010.

With four-doors and four-seats Fisker Karma fuses the traditional and timeless styling of a classic GranTurismo with the green technology of a hybrid. This beauty is designed by veteran auto designer and Fisker Automotive CEO Henrik Fisker. Utilising the Quantum
Technologies' clean Q-DRIVE® plug-in hybrid powertrain, the Karma becomes the world's first luxury plug-in hybrid car.

Fisker Karma's exterior design features the continual flow of sculpture and dramatic proportion that is a signature Fisker style. A low, wide stance and raised front fenders offer the driver a unique view of the car's design. Modest changes from the original Fisker Karma prototype include an enhanced upper grill and an enlarged lower intake for improved airflow. A new aerodynamic diffuser under the rear bumper helps cool the electric drivetrain. Instantly recognizable, the Fisker Karma also benefits from having the world's largest continuously formed glass solar panel roof on a car - an industry first and a standard feature on all future Fisker sedans.

Unlike other GT cars with a ferocious V10 or V12 and a flat-plane crank, the Karma does with a puny ,turbocharged 2.0L engine sourced from General Motors which produces just 260 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, an insulting figure to modern sports car standards.

But wait.

Here comes the kicker . . .

The engine doesn't send its power directly to the wheels. Instead, much like the E-REV system on GM's upcoming Volt, it merely serves to charge the lithium-ion battery pack of the Karma's electric drivetrain, one with two electric motors that Fisker says produces a peak output 408 horsepower and an incredulous 959 ft-lb. of torque. Now that's more like it.

A desirable car of any kind requires an inviting cockpit. Fisker's interior design team focused on sustainable design held accountable to the environment.Fisker Karma's instrumentation and controls focus on ease of use.

Embedded in the layered EcoGlass™ center console is a 10.2-inch touch sensitive screen controlling HVAC, audio and other vehicle systems. LCD gauges behind the steering wheel provide display critical information like battery charge and vehicle speed.

All in all an excellent combination of Beauty and Technology, I say.

The New LF-A from Lexus.

The new thoroughbred from Lexus stable chillingly capable of slaying the European giants.

Constructed using advanced carbon fibre technology, the rear-wheel drive LFA is powered by a bespoke, high-revving 552bhp 4.8 L naturally aspirated V10 engine, matched to a rear-mounted six-speed sequential automatic transmission, giving 200mph-plus performance.

The LFA boasts class-leading aerodynamics to achieve drivetrain cooling and superb high-speed handling and stability. Extensive wind tunnel testing helped produce a wind-cheating profile with a drag coefficient of 0.31, a remarkable achievement given the degree of downforce the car creates at high speed.

The 4.8 L V10 produces 480Nm of torque at 6,800rpm, 90 per cent of which is available from 3,700rpm all the way to the 9,000rpm red line, thanks to Dual VVT-i technology, equal length exhaust manifolds and high-volume, 12-hole fuel injectors. This gives searing in-hear acceleration at all engine speeds and in any gear: nought to 62mph takes just 3.7 seconds and maximum speed is 202mph.

With a kerb weight of 1,480kg, the LFA has a power to weight ratio of 373bhp/ton, while specific output of 115bhp per litre is among the highest of any current supercar

The LFA's acoustics, induction system and exhaust notes have been specially tuned to deliver an awesome "soundtrack" that expresses the car's extreme performance, both outside and inside the cabin. Referred to by the acoustic team as "Octave Harmony", it is inspired by the sound of a Formula 1 engine at full revs and is unlike that of any other road car, with different harmonic qualities created as the engine moves up towards its maximum 9,000rpm.

The cabin is hand-built, with driver-focused ergonomics. The seats, upholstered in fine leather and Alcantara, provide the high level of back and side support needed in a car capable of 200mph-plus performance. The trim echoes the advanced materials used in the LFA's construction, with exposed areas of both matt and gloss carbon fibre. Trim details are finished in brushed metal and the floor-hinged brake and throttle pedals are made of forged aluminium.
As with the exterior finish, owners can choose different interior colours and details to suit personal taste.

The race-tuned steering gives outstanding response and feedback to create a perfect dynamic link between car and driver. The constant-rate rack and pinion system uses an innovative column-assist Electric Power Steering System that does not sap engine performance.

The compact, hooded instrument panel combines an LCD display panel with a colour Thin Film Transistor (TFT) and a motor-drive movable ring.

It features a single circular dial with a central tachometer with an LCD needle. When engine speed exceeds 9,000rpm, the display area turns red to prime the driver for an up-shift.
It can also be programmed to turn yellow or green when the revs reach a user-selected range. The dial also houses a digital speedometer and gear indicator, transmission mode, vehicle control data and trip information displays.

All through the ages , the Mercedes has been obsessed with passenger safety using bleeding edge technology. The following article is about their latest venture.

The Experimental Safety Vehicle (ESF) 2009

In the August of 1939, the safety pioneer Béla Barényi started his work in Sindelfingen and invented the principle of the crumple zone, a trailblazing innovation which entered series production at Mercedes-Benz in 1959. With the help of its in-house accident research function, which was founded in 1969, Mercedes engineers in the following years have developed several groundbreaking innovations in passenger car safety. Now let's look behind the scenes, and in this anniversary year, Mercedes-Benz is using the ESF 2009 research vehicle to reveal what its safety specialists are currently working on – with a time horizon that often extends well into the future.

Mercedes Benz ESF 2009 Concept Premiered on 15 June 2009, at the Enhanced Safety of vehicles (ESV) Conference in Stuttgart, the ESF 2009 is the first Experimental Safety Vehicle to be built by Mercedes-Benz since 1974. Like its historic predecessors, it illustrates innovations in the field of safety.

PRE-SAFE Structure: The inflatable metal structures save weight or increase the stability of structural components. When at rest, the metal section is in a folded state to save space.

If its protective effect is required, a gas generator builds up an internal pressure of 10 to 20 bar within fractions of a second, causing the section to unfold for significantly more stability.

Braking Bag: This auxiliary brake accommodated in the vehicle floor is a new type of PRE-SAFE® component.

If the sensor system concludes that an impact is unavoidable, the Braking Bag is deployed shortly before the crash and stabilises the car on the road surface by means of a friction coating.

The vehicle's vertical acceleration increases the friction, and helps to decelerate the vehicle before the impact occurs.

Interactive Vehicle Communication: The ESF 2009 is able to communicate directly with other vehicles, or via relay stations. Using "ad hoc" networks and WLAN radio technology, it is e.g. able to receive and transmit warnings of bad weather or obstacles in the road.

PRE-SAFE Pulse: This further development of PRE-SAFE® is able to reduce the forces acting on the torsos of the occupants during a lateral collision by around one third.

It does this by moving them towards the centre of the vehicle by up to 50 millimetres as a precautionary measure. As an active restraint system, it uses the air chambers in the side bolsters of the seat backrests.

Spotlight lighting function: This partial LED main beam specifically illuminates potential hazards.

If the infrared camera of Night View Assist PLUS e.g. detects deer at the roadside or pedestrians on the road, these can be briefly illuminated beyond the normal area covered by the main beams, as if by a spotlight.

All these safety features will soon be standard in the future Merc models. Kudos to Mercedes for pioneering these state of the art technologies.

The Mighty Brabus SV 12 R

BRABUS has unveiled the latest member of their high powered luxury sedan family. The BRABUS SV12 R, and it's based on the recently face lifted Mercedes-Benz S600

BRABUS SV12 R boasts a 'Modest' 750 hp @ 5,500 rpm, while peak torque comes in at
1,350 Nm @ 2,100 (electronically limited to 1,100 Nm). All of this is made possible through a displacement increase from 5.5 to 6.3 liters. She manages the 0-62 mph run in 4 seconds flat and the top speed is an electronically 211 mph.

The enormous performance of the Brabus SV12 R is kept safely under control with custom-tailored solutions for tires, brakes and suspension using Brabus Monoblock light-alloy wheels with diameters ranging from 17 to 21 inches. All versions are fitted with Pirelli or YOKOHAMA tires in size 265/30 ZR 21 in front and in size 295/30 ZR 21 on the rear axle.

The Brabus' interior is made exclusive by the Brabus Yachting, precious-wood combination of maple and tropical Wenge wood, which lends the luxury sedan a maritime ambiance. In traditional craftsmanship hundreds of individual pieces are used to recreate every piece of wood trim in the S-Class in the style of a miniature ship veneer. The combination of maple and Wenge woods features traditional open pores but is sealed according to the latest automotive guidelines.

The Techno gadgets inside this super saloon includes 15.2-inch 16:9 TFT screen which serves as computer monitor. The Brabus computer is connected to the internet via UMTS. A webcam for video conferencing or a digital camera, a printer housed in a custom-developed console located between the rear seats and a wireless keyboard for the Brabus computer system.

The computer's integrated MP3 player can store more than 5,000 songs. The sound is carried by Sennheiser Noise Gard headphones that filter out unwanted noises for unparalleled listening enjoyment.

As a stylish and perfectly crafted complement the company upholstery shop created an elegant fully leather interior in a combination of light-beige and dark-brown leather that is especially soft, breathable and extremely durable.

Truly the ultimate Super Saloon!

The Man Behind The Legend

Ferruccio Lamborghini

Ferruccio Lamborghini was a self made millionaire, who build his fortune by building tractors from army surplus left by the Allied Forces back in 1945. He started the tractor business from a small garage but soon demand for his very powerful tractors rose. And soon he was left with surplus money, so started an oil burner and air conditioning systems as well. All the businesses flourished well and he became the wealthiest man in Italy.

He could afford just about everything he wanted, and as with most of the super rich, he started collecting expensive cars including high speed GT cars like the Mercedes SL300 and Ferrari 250 GTS.

But when his Ferrari started giving problems with the clutch and the local workshop couldn't fix this problem, Ferruccio decided to drive to Modena and confront Enzo Ferrari himself. But Enzo, who was known for his arrogance, told this 'farmer', "Lamborghini, you may be able to drive a tractor, but you will never be able to handle a Ferrari properly". Ferruccio was insulted and furious and decided to show Enzo how he should build GT cars.
And lo behold, Automobili Lamborghini was born.

Automobili Lamborghini SpA was founded in early 1963, Ferruccio bought a green-field site of 90,000 square metres near Bologna, in SantAgata Bologna and work on his brand new factory commenced. The building was erected in only eight months. The factory used a lot of open spaces and glass everywhere, a novel concept at the time and cost him about 500,000,000 Lire, a humongous amount. The entire factory was surrounded by a road and in front of the main office building a nice garden was made. The large glass hall welcomed visitors and Ferruccios own office was located at the front of this central building.

Now Sig. Ferruccio Lamborghini started looking for the top men in the business and was able to recruit the very best of Ferrari engineers like Giotto Bizzarrini to design and build a V-12 for Lamborghini. The engine was finished soon and was able to pump out about 400 Bhp at 11,000 rpm, but Ferruccio wanted a GT car and not a race car, so the engine was detuned to 'only' 280 bhp at 7,000 rpm. After the completion of the V 12, he left.

By that time two members were added to the technical team at SantAgata, Giampaolo Dallara and Giampaolo Stanzani joined Ferruccio, and in early 1964 Ubaldo Sgarzi started working for the new Automobili Lamborghini SpA company. All from under Enzo's nose. Ferruccio had a fabulous team of engineers surrounding him to make his dreamcar, but a car has to be road tested. So he made an offer to Bob Wallace he couldnt refuse and took him in to the Lamborghini family.

Ferruccio Lamborghini was passionate about bull fighting, hence the emblem and specifically named all his cars after ferocious bulls from the arena.

1963 - 1966 Lamborghini 350 GT

The Lamborghini 350 GTV prototype was the first car made by Automobilia Lamborghini shown to the public on the Turin Auto Show of 1963, it was however not built in this new factory, because the tooling equipment wasn't delivered yet.

In 1964 the first Ferrari Lamborghini 350 GTs were crafted in this new plant. Carrozzeria Touring supplied the bodywork the chassis and the engines were mounted together complete with leather interior.

The 350 GT featured a 3.5 L quad-cam V12 engine, independent rear suspension (while Ferrari still used live rear axles) and a controversial 2+1 semi-fastback body by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan. The 350GT generally drew high praises at the time for its flexible and high-revving engine, its stable cornering, even on rough surfaces, and its high level of finish. 120 copies were built from 1963 to 1966.

1966 - 1968 Lamborghini 400GT

The Lamborghini 400GT 2+2 was a 2+2-seated sports car from the Italian manufacturer Lamborghini, successor to the 350GT. First presented at the 1966 Geneva Auto Show. Compared to its predecessor the engine was enlarged to 4.0 L, increasing the power to 320 bhp. The 400GT 2+2 was actually a different body from the 350GT, with a longer wheelbase, different roofline, and some sheetmetal changes throughout the car.

The larger body shape enabled the +2 seating to be installed in the rear, where the 350GT only had room for luggage or +1 seating. The bodywork was designed by Carrozzeria Touring. The 400GT 2+2 also had a Lamborghini designed gearbox, with Porsche style synchromesh on all gears including, which greatly improved the drivetrain.

A total of 247 units were built from 1966 to 1968, when it was replaced with the Islero.

There was a variant of the 350GT with the 4L V12 fitted to it, which was also called the 400GT. Only 23 of these smaller coupes were built.

1968 - 1970 Lamborghini Islero & Islero S

Lamborghini Islero was produced between 1968-1970 and featuring the Lamborghini V12 engine. It was the replacement for the 400GT. The car debuted at the 1968 Geneva Auto Show.

The Islero was named after a bull that killed famed matador Manuel Rodriguez "Manolete" on August 28, 1947.

The Islero was designed by Carrozzeria Marazzi. The design was essentially a reworked 400GT, but the track was altered to allow for wider tires. The Islero had good outward visibility, roomier interior, and much improved soundproofing. All nice improvements over previous models. It had a 325 hp, 4.0 L V12 engine, 5 speed transmission, fully independent suspension, and disc brakes. Its top speed was rated at 155 mph. Only 125 Isleros were built.

An updated Islero, dubbed the Islero S was released in 1969 with the engine producing 350 hp. There were quite a few styling changes too - Brightwork blind slots on the front fenders, an enlarged hood scoop, slightly flaired wheel arches, tinted windows, round side marker lights, a fixed section in the door windows, a revamped dashboard and interior. The top speed of the S improved to 161 mph or 260 km/h.

Only 100 examples of the Islero S were built, bringing the production total of the Islero nameplate to 225 cars. Ferruccio Lamborghini himself had an Islero as his daily drive car during that era.

1968 - 1978 Lamborghini Espada

The Lamborghini Espada is a grand tourer which was built by Lamborghini between 1968 and 1978.

Based on the Marzal show car, displayed at the 1967 Geneva Auto Show, in 1968 Lamborghini introduced its first four seater model, the Espada. The car was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign. The Espada featured all-round independent suspension and disc brakes. The interior trim was very luxurious.

The 4.0 L V12 putting out 325 bhp was front mounted and drove the rear wheels, though later SII and SIII models came with 350bhp. Access to this engine was made easy by a lift-up front which featured exposed headlamps (most supercars of this era had "pop-up lamps".)

The Espada had fully independent suspension and four wheel disc brakes. Most transmissions were manual, and the Espada also introduced one of the first automatic transmissions that were able to absorb the torque of a large sporting V12. It had unusual gearing, with 3 ratios: drive, 1 and reverse.

During its 10 year production the car underwent some changes, and three different models were produced. These were the S1 (1968-1970), the S2 (1970-1972) and the S3 (1972-1978). Each model featured engine power improvements, but only minor details were changed with the exterior design.

The interior was altered dramatically between each model. An all new dashboard and steering wheel was installed for the S2, and the interior was again revamped for the S3. In 1970, power assisted steering was offered as an option, and in 1974 an automatic transmission was also offered. In 1976 impact bumpers had to be installed to meet United States safety requirements, and some people consider cars produced with them to be the S4, but Lamborghini did not officially change the designation. Near the end of the Espada's life, Bertone designed a four door prototype, which was never put into production.

1217 cars were made, making it the most successful Lamborghini model at the
time.

Maybach Exelero "Concept"

Most concept cars are nothing more than stationary pieces of art. They might look like cars with the windshields and four tires and all...
but these automotive sculptures rarely move.

Then there are the concept vehicles that do have all the exotic mechanical bits and pieces and can move under their own power with 1,000+ horsepower engines and super high-tech suspensions and other goodies that would make any auto enthusiast drool. But, one would be lucky to get these super hi tech concepts to travel faster than 5 miles per hour.

And then we have concept vehicles like the Maybach Excelero you see here. This car, even though it is called a "Concept" it not only delivers the power and performance it promises, it does so on a regular basis.

The Excelero project is actually a joint venture between Maybach and German tire manufacturer Fulda. Fulda has been making all sorts of high-performance rubber for almost a century, and is well known for using high-profile one-off vehicles to advertise itself. Past vehicles include high-speed buses, special trucks and racing cars. Oh yeah, Fulda also once used a super streamlined Maybach to test high-speed tires (over 200 kph) way back in 1938.

The present Maybach Excelero concept is an extension of the past partnership between the German giants. The Excelero is powered by a 700 bhp bi turbo 6.0 L V12, with a top speed of 218 mph and a 0to 62 mph sprint time of 4.4 secs.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has confirmed headline performance figures for Ghost, their new model which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September.The Ghost will be powered by a brand new 6.6 litre turbo charged V12 engine unique to Rolls-Royce, producing 563 bhp, delivering a 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The engine is combined with an 8-speed automatic ZF gearbox.

Inside Rolls-Royce Ghost, the interior ambience is unique, staying true to Rolls-Royce traditions of fine materials and peerless comfort. There are elegant, frosted lamps and chrome door handles, traditional violin key switches and eyeball air vents, frosted white dials and refined instrumentation. Deep-pile carpets can be complemented by optional lambswool floor mats for a truly luxurious feel.

Rolls-Royce Ghost is entered through substantial doors. Housed within the front doors are integrated Teflon-coated umbrellas. The rear doors are traditional, rear-hinged coach doors, opening to a generous 83 degrees. Once the passenger is inside, these doors can be closed at the touch of a button.

The Pagani Zonda Roadster F.
Priced at about $5,80,000 upwards it is the fastest, most exclusive, most powerful and most expensive Roadster in the world. Only 25 of these sculptures will ever be produced for sale. This engineering delight is powered by the famous Merceds Benz 7.3 L AMG 60 degree V12, specially tuned for the roadster churning out an amazing 650 bhp and a whopping 780 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine drives via a Cima six-speed manual gearbox to the 20 inch rear wheels. Combine this with a kerbweight of 1230 kg and you can picture the performance capabilities of this baby ! ! !

The Roadster achieves a top speed of 214 mph, the 0-60 mph rush in around 3.5 seconds, and 120 mph in well under 12 seconds. A very, very fast car.

Inside, the cockpit is compact with seats and controls that seem ideally placed. The interior can be tailored to suit individual tastes. But the style is Pagani: a small instrument binnacle, machined from aluminum, sits in front of the wheel, there is an aluminum
center console, and the air intakes have aluminum bezels.

As with all exotic cars, the basis of the Roadster F is the carbon fiber hull. The hull comprises the cockpit and bulkheads to which steel tubular sub-frames are attached for the steering and front suspension at the front, and the suspension and power train at the rear. This makes it extremely rigid for a roadster with extreme cornering capabilities and absolute control.

At the rear the four exhaust pipes are grouped together in a circular outlet in the traditional Pagani manner, and almost all of the rest of the tail is one large air outlet to get the heat way. On top is the large wing.

The new Mc Laren MP4-12C (at last!).
It’s a mid-engined two-seater that shares some styling cues with
the McLaren F1 and claims to be the most fuel efficient super car.
This car is aiming straight for the
Porsche 911 Turbo and the Audi R8 market and will cost about $225,000 when launched in
the early 2011.

The mid mounted engine is a compact 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8, which has a flat-plane crank and makes about 600 bhp and 440 pound-feet of torque. This baby weighs only 1300kg, managing a power to weight ratio of 495 bhp/ton - monstrous eh?.
All that power is transferred to the tarmac using an all new seven-speed twin-clutch transmission. All this makes her blast past the 60 mph mark in 3 secs and reach the top speed of 200+ mph.

The exterior shape was optimized by McLaren for aerodynamic performance in the wind tunnel.
As with the F1, there’s a spoiler that acts as an air brake when the driver hits the left pedal. The driver can also set it at 45 degrees to improve rear-end

At the climax of its centenary celebration ceremonies, Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. presented customers and opinion-makers with the Bugatti 16 C Galibier concept. Intended to be the most exclusive, elegant, and powerful four door automobile in the world.
The name "Galibier", has been coined from a French Alpine pass that was applied to Bugatti's historic four-door saloons.

The interior is spectacular, with a burled walnut surfboard-like console
running between the front and rear cabin.
There are only two instruments in the dash - a speedo and tacho.
In front of the driver is an LCD screen with a digital interface,
allowing drivers to leaf through applications.

Beneath the bonnet, which folds back from both sides, there resides a 16-cylinder, 8-litre engine with 2-stage supercharging. It is being designed as a flex-fuel engine,(Petrol/Ethanol).

I loved the Mazda6 from the very first moment I saw. This car was a welcome breeze from the monotonous Camry and Altima. The latest one comes with two engine options, a 2.5 L, 170 bhp 4 cylinder and a smooth 3.7 L, 272 bhp V6. The chassis has got ample strength to take everything the V6 can throw at it and the car is more than eager to turn in and is an absolute dream to drive.

The price range in which the Mazda6 is competing, I think it is the better pick because of the interior design, space, standard equipments and handling.The interior is quiet and modern. All switches and goodies are easy to reach and use, though the quality of the materials used was a let down. An advise from me will be to get the optional Bose audio system, you will love it.

This car offers smooth ride and maneuverability combined with sporty responses when ever demanded and hence she is my obvious pick among the Japanese sedans.
All in all I admire this car for its driving, handling qualities and comfort.
